Dear Educator,
Covenant
Cedars Outdoor Education program was created to give students a fun,
interactive learning experience. It combines both classes and
activities that allow students to learn through doing. This packet is
intended to introduce you to the outdoor education program Covenant
Cedars has to offer.
Our
program is intended for 4th through 6th grade, but can be adjusted to
any grade level. It is offered in the Fall and the Spring with day and
overnight trips available. The average cost for our program is around
$15 per student (this includes a meal) depending upon the schedule you
wish to create with us.
We
will work with you to design a schedule that is right for you. It can
be tailored to your students based on the classes and activities you
choose. Classes include basic first aid, water ecology, fishing, map
& compass, and trees. Activities include night hikes, challenge
course, waterfront, nature trails, zipline, and climbing wall. Most
classes and activities cost $2-$3 and can last from a half hour to two
hours each.
On our website,
you will find information on the classes and activities. You will also
find a sample schedule, meal information, lodging information, and a
registration form. The registration form will guide you through the
scheduling process. Call us at (402) 757-3241 if you have questions and
to check on the availability of dates. Also, feel free to visit the
Outdoor Education link on our web site, www.cedars.org.
Thanks, Daniel Robbins
